The Oman Open
The Oman Open formed part of the European Tour and was played annually at Al Mouj Golf in Muscat. The 2020 event saw 144 players competing for the $1.75 million prize fund and attracted 10 of the world's top 100 Professionals. Promoted and managed by the Oman Golf Association in 2019 and 2020 the event strived to not only be a high profile sporting event but also to put Oman at the forefront, serving as a platform for increased tourism and investment, through the global television exposure.
The Oman Open was part of the European Tour since 2018, but the journey started in 2013 when the European Challenge Tour first came to the Sultanate, returning each year until 2017. The event grew year on year, in strength and reputation, and became a firm favourite amongst the European Tour players.
